Dig it. On one hand...one of my favorite cars. On the other....
it is a high mileage used BMW M3. Vanos, subframe...it just scares the crap out of me I could easily see it on jack stands as often as I am driving it.

Convertible need to be on both lists, or neither. Because they’re expensive, difficult, and time consuming to fix when they stop working. Or when they leak. And when water gets into control models from said leak.

$7k for a cab with what is nowadays middling mileage and a nice interior is about right.
Check subframes; get cooling system maintenance info; do a PPI.
I would totally buy an E36 M3 assuming it was pretty clean and this one looks to be decent.

I had a $3300 automatic shitbox 98 M3 and enjoyed the hell out of it, so a decently well sorted one with a roof that comes off and a third pedal can only be even better.

The E36 M3 is probably the easiest on the wallet. Most parts are interchangeable with the vanilla E36s and the S52 isn’t nearly as high strung as other M car engines.
